Orange P7

Retro Newbie
My first proper mountain bike was an orange p7 in 1995 - I loved that bike and cared for it so well. Regretfully I had to sell it about a year later to pay off a credit card bill - I have never forgiven myself for that.

Roll on 30 years and what should I see at the local tip but an identical bike - they wanted £10 for it! It’s a little rusty but it works ok - even the tyres are ok after a little air.

Any advice on how to restore would be welcomed…

I don’t think it needs any new parts - just a lot of tlc.

Crikey. My local tip wouldn’t sell bikes anymore. They were all destined for a York based charity. A bit hard to argue with “yeah but, if I have it for a tenner, I can strip it and sell the parts”

Proper score for a tenner. Should clean up a treat.

I have a bit of a P7 problem, in as much as that I have too many of them!

Bargain - looks like it's got measles though poor thing! Once the rusts's gone some sort of car wax could help keep the rust at bay? It'd turn my head in the street - P7 with F7 forks - coool
