Orange P7 Touring edition

Re:

A great looking bike, I hope you get to tour on it. Out of interest where would I find ride/tour reports on this site, do people post them?

Will be touring very soon, the first of many on this bike I hope. Have a 3-week tour of the Scottish highlands and western isles planned for late May.

Sounds wonderful, and the best time of year to avoid the worst of the midges.

LOL, yes, you have no idea how much research went into the dreaded midge season - while still trying to enjoy some warmth!

Great bike there. Can I ask how you restored the frame and forks, products or companies used ? I have a '95 P7 I am restoring at the moment. Thanks

Thanks. The P7 nickels had a protective clear coat over the chrome, which had become discoloured. I stripped the bike back to bare frame and forks and painted it over with a Nitromors type product which completely dissolved the coating leaving just the bare chrome which I then spent a couple of weeks hand polishing with wire wool and emery cloth. It doesn't have the protective coating now, but I have applied 9 or 10 coatings of wax polish, and just need to keep it clean and apply another coat of wax every few months.

That looks really nice and certainly fit for its purpose.
Great job and here's wishing you many happy miles with it.

Jamie
