Just got this bike off eBay , Seller owned it 10+ years and said it was a 96 however after much searching I think it's a 98?
The serial start MT710 (Oct 97?) rather than the usual AO but I did see a mention of this being normal for 98 on bikes as well as the seat post gap being put on the front rather than the rear of the seat tube.
The serial number has been covered whilst powder coated then uncovered for the clear, I'm assuming it's been done by a previous owner as I would think the factory would just cover it over?
