Is this because your P7 has gone rusty? If so, there are multiple threads on here about how people have successfully removed the rust.
In short, Spontex scourers soaked in GT85, followed by Autosol or Maas metal polish (depending on who you ask and your views on the scent of lavender). Have done it myself and it works - though be prepared to invest some time and effort.
Not sure how common replating nickel is for bikes these days. It’s a pretty nasty process that David Attenborough will fail to thank you for.
