Hello

I am looking for information on the inside and outside diameters of the seat tube of an Orange Elite Aluminium (1993) and the diameter of the headset, please ?
I'm also looking for the list of components that were used at the time this mountain bike was released.

If a few times you have these parts for sale, thank you for offering them for purchase.

I specify that I am reassembling this bike so that it can be used safely on forest or agricultural roads.

Thank you for your interest in this project and also for your help in reviving this mountain bike.

Seatpost required is 31.6 but the Onza Rigamortis in that size wouldn’t fit properly. I put this down to manufacturing tolerance as a different branded 31.6 did fit.
I really liked the retro look or the rigamortis so ordered a 30.9 and used a 31.6 to 30.9 shim off eBay that works great!

I’ll measure the outer seatpost diameter is 34.9 as that what my front mech size is and is top pull.

Headset is 1 and 1/4 inch threaded as standard but you could go threadless and possibly 1 and 1/8 with a shim that you can fit to the head tube I believe which will give you more options re forks if you ain’t bothered about staying period correct. I’ve never done this but someone on here may be able to advise in these head shins I’ve heard of if that’s the way you wanted to go.

These are lush bikes that can be built up very light!

I have a Pace fork waiting quietly in my garage but the steerer tube is 1 1/8. I retain the idea of mounting an adapter or a diameter reducer while waiting to find a 1 1/4 pivot.

I am thinking of reassembling it with a Shimano M737 8 speed groupset.

The dominant colors will be black, glossy aluminum and touches of orange because of the name of the brand.
For the wheels, I found in my old shops MAVIC 231, 236 and 238 wheels with XT M737 or LX M565 hubs

I was offered components from a Clockwork orange, is that a good idea?

Did Trebz give all the headset with it, not sure he had it. Mine has reducers fitted, so did my aluminium-o too.
But given decent short lip, deep cup version are about £15 you maybe a me to get a steerer tube instead (and then find a headset and stem)

Frame fitting part from a Clockwork will not fit. Other parts will.

M900/735/650 (XTR/XT/DX) would be the groupsets for the year or Suntour XC Pro/XC Comp Microdrive.

No harm in going the later M737/M560 (XT/LX) that came in 1994 if that's better for you and you want XT 8speed.

I bought the frame without any other part. I also have a Judy fork with a 1 1/4 steerer but still my Pace is something else.

I would like to find a stock rigid fork, but I think it's like looking for a needle in a haystack.

I'll take my time actually, patience and perseverance. I find it very good to polish the frame.

Good news, I found a rigid fork, a stem, a handlebar to reassemble my frame. Like that, I keep my Pace fork for a Kona Kilauea to customize.
