Good evening

I have an early/ mid 90's clockwork that I am slowly but surely building up. I need a bottom bracket for it. What size will I need please?

You'll need to tell us what cranks/chainset? This will help with axle size.

I can't remember if the BB shell is 73 or 68mm though

I don't know what cranks/ chain set just yet. Sorry........

The crank set is the long arm thing that holds the front chain rings on and to which the pedals are attached.

Depending on whether your bike is early or mid 90's the BB needed is likely to be different.

It would help if we could see pictures or you could give any details of the cranks. There may be some helpful logos plus in information stamped on the back of the arms.

As you were ..... Basically choose your cranks then choose your BB.
