ORANGE CLOCKWORK

Just acquired an original orange clockwork frame, can anyone advise where I can have it repainted?

Any advise on parts exit would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in Nottingham BTW

There's a thread here with recommendations of some paint shops and powder coaters people have used: http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewto ... p;t=232111

There's also a list of ones to avoid.

Is it the classic orange-white fade paint job? Not sure how well powder coat would work with fades, I think it can be done, but don't know how it compares to wet paint.

It is yes, the classic colour with the fading.

I'll have a look on the thread see who people are recommending.

Thanks

Speak to Karl (aka sinnerman), he did a full resto including respray on a white/orange fade clockwork.........the paint job was stunning, as was the finished bike........... :D

I sent my extremely tired Clockwork frame to Bob Jackson in Leeds - would definately reccomend them. The finished article looked amazing! Graphic Shack in Bristol also have a good reputation - but were a fair bit more expensive than Bob Jackson for the Clockwork.

That looks great, but I have to ask, why two pumps? Do you pump up both tyres at the same time? :D

A fade effect with powder can be done by a well practiced coater. The finish is coarser than wet paint but not a bad compromise as you get a pretty tough finish.

I wish that was my man-cave...unfortunately not! Photo was taken at my brothers work where they have every tool imaginable - sometimes two of every one!

Bob Jackson did the 2007 Clockwork and that's very close to the original finish. See Gil_M for decals, his 1992/3 ones are spot on.

Re:

Graphicshack did my spray job a last month. I think it speaks for its self.
