Orange Clockwork seatpost size?

Re:

Defo a later 1992 frame, possibly sold as a 1993 model year with 93 groupset. My favourite version of the Clockwork.

Re:

Thanks everyone, that's good to know! I was 17 in May 92 and probably at the height of my fitness :)

Just have to decide what to do with her now :) from the profile view, what size do you reckon? Was told 18" but it looks tiny unbuilt.

Back to the original topic, should this defo be 26.8mm then?

Oh my god - I take it all back Orange, if you're listening!

So after I posted those photos I thought the seat post clamp looked a bit toed-in, not sure why I hadn't seen that earlier - but with a little gentle persuasion I opened up the gap and the post slid in no problem!

Glad I hadn't actually got around to returning the post now :)

Re:

Think there are a lot of anomalies with Orange's early frames as they developed and tried different ideas each year. In '93, they used bold blocky 'sans serif' font for the decals. Yours looks early '92 as mentioned with those 'serifed' decals but it has the top tube cable stops, the front mech cable router brazed on top of the BB shell and the seat tube clamp of Oranges from earlier years. Mine has the same seat tube clamp (taking a 26.8mm post) as yours. An old Zoom post slides in with no effort but other posts of the same diameter sometimes require a heavy duty flat head to gently flex the clamp open. Got the same top tube cable stops, the funny BB shell cable router too but there's a bridge connecting the chain stays which suggests 89/90 vintage. But Orange frames vary so often that I'm never really sure.

It's a 26.4 ... seatpost (years late 😂) I made same mistake I'm guessing my orange is same year as yours was/is.. it has the 3 cables grouped too. You havnt knocked your bike. (Wrote this for future readers looking for seat post size haha) 93 clockwork orange.
