Never though I would sell this but after 23 years the time has come! I was in the trade at the time in a London bike shop and ordered this direct from Lester Noble at Orange as we were not a dealer - it was the first of the Clockworks' with the new pencil thin seat stays and other changes - cannot remember exactly but I'm sure it was early '91 or '92. They had been delayed a long time and an Orange tee was sent out as a gift with the frame, still have it now!

I joined here in 2006 and the bike was posted in this topic:

Anyway, it is mostly as built back then bar the more recent addition of the dodgy riser bar and stem (my wife was using it) and tyres. I will have some other parts listed soon including some Salsa flat bars and an Isla bikes TIG welded cro mo stem which might be of interest too.

Spec is 17" Clockwork Frame and original forks.

Bike fitted with Pace RC30s in beautiful condition and original decals (I have some spare NOS decals somewhere too IIRC).

Mavic M231 rims, DT DB spokes, Ringle/XT hubs.

American Classic post

Flite saddle

Onza HO brakes

Ringle QR's

XT front mech

I think the chainset is Deore DX?, steel inner, Syncros middle, Stronglight outer, Syncros Crank-o-matic working perfectly.

XT thumbshifters

Dia Compe S7 levers

Rear block is 8 speed - oldies like me will rememebr the famous conversion before XT when 8 speed by fitting an Ultegra 8 speed freehub and utilising the famous 'hidden' 8th click on the thumbies - works perfectly.

Frame is all original, I was very, very fussy back and still am and the frame was corrosion protected inside from day one and religiously cleaned and sprayed inside all the vent holes after every wet ride. It hss always been dry stored and is all in really nice totally original condition with decals mostly intact. Everything works as it should and it really just needs a period bars and stem to bring it back to true survivor status.

Please note: pedals are NOT included.

I'm a bit unsure of value but I guess this is bound to be split up and sold as parts by me unless someone wants to take it as one purchase. I'm thinking £350 as it all is including the Pace and Orange forks.

Thanks guys, I'll give it a while as the frame/forks will need to sell first before I split the rest but will see how interest pans out...

Re:

I know it would be a shame to split, but you would realise much more overall, i.e. the Ringle QR set would fetch around £80/100 alone.

Re:

And depending how mint the crank o matics are anywhere from 40 to 100+ it seems for them.

What's the serial number? First few bits.

Seriously?! I am out of touch...!

OK - probably best then to get this into valuations and split the lot. Having said that if anyone wants to take the whole package at £350 still as advertised (split it themselves) then that will stand over the weekend.

I will honour 'dibs' on here. :)
