Orange Clockwork 2007

Re:

Happy to confess my ignorance on the subject of early forks.Mine are marked Pace RC38 Airforce LT.I read somewhere that these are 83mm travel. They do have a black crown.

The forks seem to bounce up and down very happily, but with initial stiction before they get moving, hence my comment about needing a service, but last night I put a few drops of fork oil on the stantions and this seems to have freed them off,dry bushes?

I am waiting on drive train parts and I am hoping to give it a first ride later this week, will make my mind up then.

Thanks again for all the advice.

Post up a photo of them and someone will be able to confirm the travel.

I think I had a pair of those but they felt a bit flimsy - so I went to the RC36 ProClass2

All finished now, apart from touching up the paint.

Pace forks seem fine, very reactive over small bumps and effective travel seems to be 70mm which is sufficient for gravelly paths.Settled on an 80mm stem to get the right reach for me and changed the saddle to a fabric scoop.

Rims are Mavic XC717 which should go tubeless with right tyres.

Thanks for the helpful comments
