Orange C16R chain Shimano IG alternatives or NOS

Hi, I have a circa 1995 Orange C16R which is generally in good condition but whose chain a Shimano IG51 needs replacement.
The bike has a 7 speed Shimano cassette (original) and an Alivio crank-as per the base spec standard bike.
Does anyone have NOS IG51 chain OR can anyone suggest a suitable replacement (Im told Shimano HG is incompatible).

The KMC Z8S has a pin width of 7.1mm, like the IG chain. I will be buying one for a Muddyfox Courier project, with a Shimano STX crankset.

I have never found any compatibility issue between IG and HG. Maybe deep inside the spec sheet they are, but back in the real world it's one less thing to consider.

That’s really helpful, I tried both SRAM PC -850 and KMC Z.8.3 in the end.. SRAM on first .. seemly no issues.. watch this space
