Orange Bikes to go in to administration!

From what I'm reading it's only the race teams they're not continuing with and not the company, Quote from one of their statements;

"But for now, we’re ending on a high and will take a break to focus on our main goal of creating world-class bikes."

I can’t see how worried staff with bills to pay and mouths to feed are going to build world class bikes, when they’ve got one eye on the welder and the other on Indeed.

The same way anyone working in an unsecure job does - do the best job you can, hoping things I'll turn out OK while looking at other options.

Low-margin??? Also, where did all the money go from all these extra bikes that were sold during the Covid outbreak?
According to a post on STW they lost money during Covid! I guess the issue for them will have been lack of stock (especially components)?

It's not just the race team, it's the company. They announced they were not running a race team in 2024 a while back, which I guess was a precursor to this announcement and a sign they were in trouble? Apparantly some of the industry have know for a few days but Orange asked them to keep it quiet until they were able to talk to the staff. The chap who broke the story seems to have ignored that.

I remember when Ashley Barnes took over he spoke of the grand plans for expanding the brand and getting bigger. I guess there's a reason Steve and Lester were happy to stay lower volume and sell out of bikes before the sale period?

Hopefully someone will take them on.

As for race teams, a lot of companies are dropping their race teams this season due to the extortionately increased entry fees from the organizers regardless.

It’s a sad day if development of projects such as the AD3 cease as a result of the industry crawling up its own arse.
