Got a chance of buying an orange big T at a good price but struggling to find out much about them was wondering if anyones owned one and could give me their opinion on how it would ride compared to a new downhill bike have orange changed the geometry much

Re:

Hi Bolly. From what I remember the Big T fitted below the 223, above the Patriot in the range back in 2007ish. It was basically a step below a full DH bike so imagine the geometry would be pretty slack. Stick a decent shock and forks on it and I'm sure it'd be a fun bike going down although I bet it weighs a fair bit.

What's a good price? To me it would be £100-150. Any more and I'd be looking towards a later Patriot.

Re:

Thanks for the reply have looked at a 2008 orange brochure but it doesn't even say how much rear travel it has I would presume 180mm the same as the patriot or maybe more as for price wants £200 but thats with rear shock rockshox totems and a few extras and I probably have enough parts to build it up and use it for uplift days and maybe take it to the alps next year

Re:

Should be a good deal totems need a service but there coil so should be straightforward theyve not done a lot so probably worth a few quid on there own but it's not an easy bike to find out much information think it's basically a beefed up patriot

Re:

Anybody out there ridden a big t have bought the frame but got to wait a couple of weeks wondering how it rides compared to the patriot think it's classed as a freeride bike so a bit higher bottom bracket and longer seat stays any tips on setting it up have got some offset bushes I might put on to lower the bottom bracket will build it up quite light for now
