Orange ads/catalogue from '91?

Very nice Grant, and you've reminded me that I need to collect my 'O' frame from Pickle.

I've not seen one like yours before. Have you got the serial number as I'd guess it's a '93 with those decals and cable routing? Probably one of the last that was made :? Could be wrong though....

Looking forward to seeing your build. ;)

Nice one Grant...

Any other plans for the spec? Surely with XTR your gnna want some RC35's up front?.... Is that an alistalk and hotrods on there too? - at least you've got the Front Mech. Tracking down a top pull took time on my (now flibble's )orange/white fade.

You could try a soak in plusgas too if it's stuck fast. Those 1 1/4" parts can be a pain to track down so patience is a virtue!!

Posted many times before- here's the Orange and white fade that's currently being swapped onto a smaller 17" frame. A91020020

Cheers,
boy"O"boy

Yep, alistalk and hotrods and correct xtr m900 FM.

I'm not sure on spec further than what I have, quite fancy rigid, I've recently put RC36's on my Cannondale and that is my real 'tool' so got a hankering for another bone shaker! Maybe some fancy rigid's (depending on budget!), M900 crankset (already been offered one but it is nearly twice what I paid for the whole bike  so going to refurb first) and new (to me, not brand new) wheels/tyres

This was meant to be a cheap toy (I didn't pay a lot for it ;)) so things may happen slowly!

On the subject of O's after looking at these photos I wonder what year mine is with the rivited guides.

Even though its in 92 colours (from the catalog) I thought it was a 91 frame as the 92 catalog states there were refinements to the cable routing (welded stops) and a replacable hanger.

Any thoughts/opinions??

or a catalogue with colour options.

I would like to see for certain the colour options shown, the aluminium 'o' I have is getting repainted and I see in '92 it was offered in 'satin' black. I've already seen it was available in black, but no one has said if this is gloss or satin.

If you haven't already done so, there are catalogs for 91-97 in the archive.

What's the serial number Andrew? That should tell us.

yep, cheers, I think that confirms mine is a '92 model '91 produced as it has a replaceable mech hanger.

I was more after the colour options to confirm I could choose satin black and it be correct which has be confirmed

Cheers

Hi Andrew. This will confuse the afficionad'O's out there -

My matt black 17" O is frame number A10602194
If the 'formula' for working out frame numbers is correct - then this is a June '91 'O'. It has welded cable guides, one routed along the top tube, the others on the down tube. The rear mech hanger is the non- replaceable variant.

My Orange/White fade 19" O (now owned by flibble ) is frame number A1086840.
This would make it an August '91 frame. (was originally matt black)
It has riveted cable guides, all three routed along the top tube. The rear mech hanger is the replaceable variant.

Project 'O' is a 17" frame that I'm transfering the parts from the above frame. The frame number is A91020020
This would make this an early O - Feb '91
The cable guides are riveted but only one is routed along the top tube - the rest are on the downtube. The rear mech hanger is the non - replaceable variant.

Not mine but -

Tobydog11 's 'O' that was posted on my thread is A1086758
This would make the my orange/white fade only 82 apart in build numbers. Interestingly - it has the same triple top mounted cable routing and replaceable hanger - although is a 17" frame.

Any thoughts or has this thrown a spanner in the works?

Cheers,
boy"O"boy

Mine is a 17" with serial number A1086766 which puts it 8 frames after Tobydog11 's and 74 before boy"O"boy 's

mine has triple mounted cable routing and a replaceable hanger....
