I'd like to see the 'Helmets cause more injury than no helmet' crowd defend themselves against those pics!

Nasty.

Can't believe someone would wear a full face helmet and not fasten the chin strap!

It's like when you see chavs on scooters - helmet not fastened and no gloves! Clearly seeing 2 wheels as a chore until they get their hands on a Nova or Saxo!!

Haha^.

Was just looking at the pic again, neck brace and no chin strap, nice going buddy! Still has his braking finger out.

Possibly his chin strap snapped though.

man....they make me feel a bit sick!.....wheres the one of the guy faceplanting the tyre?......not funny but funny all the same.....

looking at the "no chin strap" chap.... has he taken the time and effort to put a neck brace on - and forgot to fasten his helmet.

Reminds me to source a MET Parachute helmet since, downhilling aside, i know so many people who on a trail centre day on just on rolling hills in the woods have piled and knocked teeth out.

Thats what they get for going so fast.Zero sympathy  Now if they had shitty brakes......

I don't think that one of those MET Parachutes would be much protection in a face to rock, or hard ground, contact - in fact, they always look as if you'd be worse off, as the "guard" bit would get smashed into your face too.

I had one of those face to rock moments last year in Greece - riding down a stepped kalderimi, not paying enough attention ('cos I'd ridden it several times before) and dropped my front wheel into a hole in the rocks just after a step. Next thing I was sliding face-first down a thankfully smooth rock.
Blood everywhere and I thought that I'd be spitting teeth but luckily I had just cut the inside of my lip. Of course, I had to carry on and ride home and I was on my own too, of course ( I have no mates....).
The next day I looked as if I'd had a good kicking at closing time.

What's the answer? In my case, pay a bit more attention - certainly not a full-face helmet, as I don't fancy 1,500 metre climbs in 40° temperatures wearing one.
