Onza Canis and Mavic XC717 rims

I need to get some new tyres for my Pace 104, and I've been looking at the Onza Canis amberwalls. Given the modern retro nature of the Pace frame, at least aesthetically, I think the amberwalls would look great.

I am a bit concerned at the 2.25 stated width of the tyre. The Mavic web site states a max 2.1 for the XC717, but the sticker on the rim has 2.3. I am running 2.2 Bontrager tyres at the moment and they have been fine, not too balloon like.

Does any one run the Onza's? any experience on XC717 or other narrower rims?

I have run 2.25 Panaracer Cinder's on XC 717's with no problems for a couple of years...go for it!
