Online bike shop

Re:

CRC used to be the big one, but Wiggle own it now, which also used to be pretty good.
Same shop now, two different websites, not quite as good as it used to be but still ok (this was pre Covid). Support is hit and miss, but when you get a real person it excellent.
Can use Hermes...

Merlin Cycles is another, they're not quite as good for me now, range is very much in the now.

And PlanetX(On-One) for stuff, prices go up and down like a yo-yo there and offers are not always offers and websites a bit shabby and lacks detail. May use Hermes...

But can get interesting bits there for good prices, as long as you hit minimum postage.

I've used a few others in the past, but not as regulars.
(Billy's, WoolyHatShop, Wheels, Onza, discount.. but some have these have been via ebay as the front).

I avoid anything Activesport.

Re:

Oh and Halfords as I can click and collect if the price is right (and only then).

What sort of thing are you after?

Thanks for that. To finish my first 'build' I still require pedals, grips and a chain. I want them to be retro looking and not modern. Even secondhand parts in good condition would suffice.

On a side note, did you get my PM?

Sorry, should I not of asked? :(

This is the internet and I fully expect everyone to wade in with their experiences which will happily contradict each other. Or am I simply thinking of what would happen if you asked this on STW? ;-)

Re:

All the above as mentioned.

Also Rutland - have some good discounts from time to time - not quite as quick to deliver as the others (I think Merlin are the fastest personally)

Evans/Sports Direct have the odd thing seriously discounted as they adopt the sports direct business model, but obviously buyer beware with those sharks - don’t expect much CS!

Support your local independent bike shops!

Otherwise we will curl up and die.

(Is it time to lock this thread already...?)
