One of our chain stays is missing! Back to the 30s.

Re:

Apologies for multi posting as I’m on my phone and don’t know how to put pics in.

I think the distressed saddle works but I have others. What do you think?

Distressed is ok but is it sound? The others look tidy.

I think it is. Looks almost artificially distressed. We shall see. Quite like the all black look though.

Thanks for that. It confirms it as a 1937 silver light tourist. I’m basing this on the introduction of the little light oil bath chain guard that was only introduced that year.

Looking Superbe :)
I would say that you should get a chain and grips on it and get it into RBotM as there is still a day to go but alas I think a theme month that's coming may well suite it better ;)

Thanks. Post and stem turned up. Modern but will get suitable paint and ‘patina’ once I’ve tried it all out. Veeery relaxed riding position methinks.

Bugger, I've accidentally and foolishly stumbled into the Roadie section.

Back out slowly........ touch nothing...... or before you know it, you've three frames.

Re:

Almost there. Sturmey hub was challenging as was refitting the chain. What oil should I fill the bath with?

Brakes and parts got a light clean rather than a serious doing. I thought they’d look less jarring against the 90 year old patina.
