For anyone interested in having a collection of nice parts put together really badly, but not wanting to pay for trans atlantic shipping, please drop me a pm

I guess if you're the type of person who wears a Chinese Rolex and buys designer jeans from a market stall then this 'Colnago' may appeal, but its definitely not for me. The same applies to the OP's Enve/Tune wheelset fitted to his Serotta viewtopic.php?f=2&t=279421  .

art: the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

In all fairness then, this objet d'art doesn't need to function as a bicycle. I wouldn't go as far as putting this up there with a Jackson Pollock though, but there's definitely some "belle de loin, mais loin d'être belle" thing going on. :xmas-wink:

Check out the dent in the rear wheel on the rim is the braking ok

Liking some parts of you build looks cool Christmas cracker mate

If the op worked in our workshop he wouldnt last a day. Sorry, but i wouldnt let a £80 bso leave our workshop like that. Also, surely badging it as a colnago then trying to sell it breaches some sort of forum rule? If not then it should! Oh, happy new year.

Put your handbags away bitches, someone wanted to show off there hard work and you shoot them down in flames. There's nothing like a bit of encouragement, what a great bunch of guys

I don't think them telling me that my cables are wrong and the front mech is too high on a 16" frame is shooting me down in flames but thank you for stating the obvious that someone is just trying to show off their hard work that they are proud of so no need for the harsh critism.

Apologies if you thought my comments were in any way insulting, this wasnt my intent, i did state at the end of it that it was meant as constructive criticism, i hope you have taken no offence from my comments.

See, the problem is that you presented in the manner of 'look at my amazing craftsmanship, I'm a custom builder offering to do great work for you, for a price'.

And then showed a badly hashed up collection of often inappropriate parts, resulting in an unridable bike.

It's the clash between the two that has led to the criticism sounding perhaps a lot harsher than it might have. Is it in fact an unfinished project? Is the mech crimping your decals because it used to have an absoflinkinlutely mahooosive big ring? Not sure what reason there could be for the odd cable clamping though.

+1 you heard of the phrase pride before a fall?

Then most of the posters on this forum and all entrants in BOTM must also get ready for a fall.

It's not the criticism that rankles, it's the supercilious nature of some of it.
