Not sure if this should be here or in the reader's bikes section, as it's not really a build topic. I merely wanted to share some pictures and have a moment of silence.
Just took delivery of an Sbike 828 with a broken frame, which I bought on the EvilBay from our Polish member ditbicykles.
Despite the bike's condition, the seller had spent a lot of time and effort to package it properly. I wish everyone would do such a nice job.
Then I looked at the wheels, and somehow they reminded me of homemade Tioga Disk Drives. So I took out a marker pen and ...
Right, the time for jokes is over.
After cutting all that packaging (and myself), I finally managed to get a good look at the damage.
The eBay pics were obvious, but seeing it in real life is still something else than looking at a picture.
And here's another one that sends shivers down my spine ...
Weirdly enough, the swingarm doesn't move at all. I suspect they overtightened it a lot to stop it from moving, but I guess I'll find that out soon enough.

It's quite obvious that damage like this can't be repaired, so the bike will be stripped and most of the components will be used on ... ermm ... my 729 perhaps?
Looking at the component numbers, it appears to be the complete 1993 Deore XT kit and fairly low mileage as well. I suspect that a proper cleaning will do miracles.
TBH I'm happy I bought it, as the components are in good condition and I can use the rear shock on the prototype frame (which will arrive in a few days).
On the other hand ... this is the first full suspension Sbike I've seen in real life, and I can't ride it.
