LMTTM/Gazz what is it you see in the frame that makes it desirable? What atttributes would make it a good rider?

Whats really **** frustrating is that I didn't end up bidding on this because some miscreants were out to destroy a perfectly good frame and now I see it went for a pittance

If it ends up being destroyed at the hand of some infant on here please resist the urge to show the childish nature of the results. :?

No one stopped you from bidding on it. If you so vehemently disagreed with our fun, (and rightful demise of this frame, should one of us win it), then it should have inspired you to bid more, in order to save this frame from us "miscreants".

I hope one of us, in the destroy it crowd, did win, and I hope it's video is posted for all to see. Please pm me a link if and when it gets posted, pleaseeeee

I am 100% confident that if we were to ever meet we would not get on. ;)

so.

what's your point now, with that statement?
I assure you, I'm no shrinking violet, and could care less if you don't like me because you and I disagree. You have judged others here of being childish and the whatnot, but you have shown yourself to be no better, maybe even a bit worse. But I could care less; carry on with your, "I don't like you because you don't agree with me" attitude.

I'll go cry in my tea and biscuits, or not.

Si, please give this frame a good and creative thrashing; it's not as if you were burning books :D

Gazz, I still love you, despite you calling me childish, mostly because I am childish at times- it keeps life interesting; would hate to always be a grownup

Rob wasn't calling you a child it was the comment about being an infant Si made that I refered to but by no means exclude myself from that demographic anyway.

Kaiser I do not have the ability to tell just by looking at a bike whether it is a good rider or not an as such made no such judgement, to purchase a bike just to destroy it whilst not the crime of the century (forgive me if I have got this wrong and this is your unicorn Si) is pretty naff. As I said someone could have built this up.and had fun on it.

A much cooler thing to do would be to spray it up in Fat Chance grello and put pseudo or real Fat Chance logos on it. Then stick it on ebay with a 'hilarious write up' and give the money to charity.

Hitting a frame with a hammer, burning it on a bonfire or feeding it to hungry sharks will never be funny only wasteful.

Its strange that even a bike of this upbringing would meet its fate at the hand of a supposed bike enthusiast.

The reason I bought it is because i am a bike enthusiast. A vintage bike enthusiast at that. And to see one of the great classic mountain bikes dirtied by such a piece of crap annoys me. Childish? Maybe. Passionate? Deffo!

If it were well executed, nicely built like the bikes that it supposedly pays homage to then i would let it go, get over it. But it is a heap of shit, badly made out of scaffold poles by a company that makes rubbish frames. To remove this frame from existance is worth every penny of £77 to me and probably 99% of Fat Chance lovers around the world.

As for more money than sense.... there are hundreds of bikes on this website that I can look at and think the very same thing.

i do like the charity idea but this frame really needs to die. Sorry

Si

Calm down dear.

I only meant that I could share no interest with someone that would have the mindset to destroy an item over the sake of a name.

And by proxy that because you have this view we would not get on. Simples.

My thoughts exactly

Fair enough

I suppose the hardest thing for me to get my head around is that its just a name :? And only a play on words for that matter

I may be able to understand better if this was in FAT colours with repro decals etc it may annoy some more than others but this is a bare frame.

As for your comment about other bikes on the site and having more money....

To my knowledge in the three or so years I have been on here I have never come across any examples of folk buying kit to make a petty point/destroy. Buying kit that may be priced more than it is worth maybe but thats completely different.

Anyhoo, going to draw a line under this from my point of view and move on.

I'm not a fan of this frame at all or the seemingly cynical marketing sitting behind it (the eBay one does look like a prototype that won't go into production, so hopefully no harm done). However destroying it seems a bit daft, not sure how it fits in with love of bikes.

To me, greater sacriledge is taking a genuine Yo and chopping it up to alter the geometry, adding disc mounts, altering BOI forks etc. Surely buying an IF would have given the same (better?) result and not have destroyed a classic frameset. But that's just my view.

Ed the yo frame was full of rust so Si made it live again and for that I doff my cap, young fella type chappie ma lad, like the donate proceeds Idea rather than killing it ;)
