Olympics: Get Over It Already, It's Just A Bronze..

Exactly. He does a TV show. Things have changed from times when olympians were engaged in a noble struggle against the odds.

Now the odds have it.

Sorry to hear a nothing TV show made you so mad.

If being the third best at what you do in the world just isn't good enough, then I'd love to know what you do for kicks!

Ah yeah, troll on this website. I rank you 5th best.

I realise opinions were outlawed under E.U. regulations, but I am still prepared to flout that limitation.

In no way am I angry about anything. Thinking genuine news, as if there were any shortage of truly newsworthy events occurring continually worldwide, should form the headlines rather than the exploits of a celebrity hardly marks me out as controversial.

Haters gonna hate though.

Third best at poncy splashing, with a mate?

I'll pass on that thanks. I would rather be at the bottom of a real sport like sailing.

Re:

Talking of which, how did the boat/bike adventure turn out?

Didn't realize he had a tv show, as generally I don't watch much tv.
There are several sports that could be deemed unsuitable for Olympic inclusion. But that's just a matter of opinion.
For many sports, it is a fight against the cheats/doctors/lawyers. It's a sad, but true fact.

Yeah, that diving, piece of piss isn't it? No physical training or years of dedicated commitment needed. No competitive edge either.

Keep coming with those prejudices!

He's got a point.
Any "sport" that relies on several judges giving their opinion on what they have seen, i.e. not measured or timed, that is based on criteria such as artistic merit which is open to the abuse of bias, prejudice even, isn't a "proper" sport. Stop watches, tape measures don't lie, can record a sports performance that can be compared to performances past, present and future.

i can just imagine HF at his kids sports day, watching them come in 3rd in the egg & spoon race.
shaking his head in disappointment.

Re:

What's the phrase?
Harder, faster, stronger?

OCP has a point. Measurable fitness/strength

What percentage of boxing matches are decided by the subjective decisions of three judges? is that a real sport?

Me too, we're all entitled to speak our mind, we're not living in a communist country (yet  )

Re:

My daughter's yr2 teacher won Taekwondo bronze at the London games. She does an incredibly demanding full time job, is a great teacher, runs Tae classes for kids and adults most eves and competes Nationally and Internationally, as well as being a wife. Got nothing but respect and admiration for her. She carried injury issues into her last games and was blighted by them this time. All the parents could see just how upset she was a few months ago when she badly injured herself 'lifting' in the gym, thus becoming de-selected for Rio. The medical backup from Team GB Olympic Medics was very impressive though. Pics below of her from the 2015 Euro Champs where she pretty much swept the floor.

Last night was incredible though, Golds coming from all angles.
