'Olympia' Pull Shock Full Suspension

i have heard of ancillotti as i have had one of their DH bike and they used to make Motor bikes. They had a whoel team runnign up at Atonhill DH in the early 00-ties. Not heard of Olympia apart for the exhibition hall and a girl i once met!

Oddly enought they like ancillotti say pull shock where on both models they are compression shock, soem are even their own shocks.

Cheers
Pete

Didn't Ffion Griffiths ride for ancillotti? And also thought that it's a push shock, not a pull...

Olympia is a well known bicycle manufacturer in Italy
Ancillotti is a small brand located close to Florence
Ancillotti was a well reputed manufacturer of high end motorcycles for off road competition races.
Remarkable is the rear suspension design (pull shock) they first developed in 1981 – before it was utilized by the big brands and became so usual on any motorbike
Because of the collapsing off road market they stopped motorcycle business – whilst the application they made for patenting the pull-shock system did not still come to its completion

Pull shock name does not refer to the shock itself - but to the way the links between the components work - so to keep virtually non-existing all the tolerances between the components themselves

They started business again in the oncoming "gravity" bikes (verry early '90)

This bike has a travel of around 100 mm front and back
Alberto Ancillotti is the man that on the left is setting the front suspension (prototype)
