Hi I'm a newbie on this forum. A couple of years ago I bought a Team Raleigh, see attached photo. It has dual brake levers and Sachs rear dérailleur. The cable guide on the bottom bracket is hiding the serial number. Can any of you retro experts able to tell me what the likely year of manufacture of the bike is and is.

Cheers for you help.

This has most catalogues so may give some info - take a look

There were three versions of the Raleigh Banana.
The standard model like yours which had plain gauge 18-23 tubing.
The Lightweights version like in the pdf which had 531c tubing.
The actual bikes the professional team rode which had 753 tubing.

The standard model was made in large numbers and there are lots available on eBay and the small ads.
The 531c bikes aren't anywhere near as common but there's usually one on eBay on any given week.
The 753 frames are the rarest of the rare (of all top end 70's and 80's Raleigh's) because they were bespoke frames built for Raleigh contracted riders (so only a handful were made).

Re:

You can usually tell the lower spec version from the brake lever "repeaters" (not sure what the right term for them is).
