What's the bit about PayPal and sellers fees?

Shaun

Simply this: if those pedals sell for £10 and the buyer pays with paypal, I will receive a net amount less than that. However, ebay will still charge me a proportionate fee based on the full £10, so I will end up with still less. Assuming I have to post the pedals - which will definitely be the case if paypal is used - I will be paying yet more to ebay, which has arbitrarily decided it is entitled to wet its beak on shipping costs. So, after ebay has sliced and diced and dipped and chipped, I'll end up with even less of my "still less" . And it gets better. If the paypal buyer is so inclined, he can quite easily open a dispute after receiving the pedals, claim his payment back and leave me with nothing, nada, rien de rien, ganz und gar nichts. But hey, maybe paypal is wonderful and a boon to humanity and me worrying about being mugged AGAIN by a system which affords the seller scant protection is just "mean-spirited". Rant over.
