its the bolts at the frame end - ok, so they are two 5mm allens and out they pop but - do I go brutal and bash the bush through or should it slide out etc etc

Its some 12 years since I actually changed one.

You don't need a Marin to be Rad to the power of Gnar. A small framed Zaskar with some SC Shivers will do the same job.

You're going about it the wrong way, you need to remove the frame from the shock
If the bush won't easily slide out then I'd just drift it out with something suitable.

Undo one bolt almost totally, then grab a rubber hammer and give it a twat. Then unthread that bolt and knock through.

I think the key here is to twat it. Right in the twat.
