Obsolete tools

I spent over an hour today trying to find a headset spanner. The local bike/hardware shop had their own, but none for sale. Across to the mainland and Hellfrauds, where their computer informed me via a human that they had none in stock and no intention of ordering any. Thence to the LBS, which has a large rack of Park and Icetoolz for every application, but where my request was met with a glassy-eyed stare and mildly confused rebuttal.
I appreciate that every single bike company in the whole world now uses threadless, but it's not like I was asking for imperial cotter pins or a set of BSA stickers ffs :evil:

They are always in tool kits though! Might not want to spend £35 on a lower quality set though..... (but you do get lots of free tools with them...)

Thanks for the link - the annoying thing is, I already possess all the other tools I need. I've now bought one online, it's just annoyed me immensely that I've had to.

THey sell them at plumber's merchants. They fit taps apparently, both 1" steerer and 1 1/8 !

There used to be a headset spanner attachment for Cool Tools. It may still be available here.
