NWA regional ride: Sparklow and the White Peak
Photo Credit: Digital Photographer
:: Date: Sunday 7th December 2014
:: Distance/time: 23 miles / 5-6 hours riding (including stops)
:: Meeting at: Sparklow Car Park just off the A515 south east of Buxton. The car park is across the road from The Royal Oak pub. 10am for a 10:30am start.
:: Directions: To The Royal Oak Pub here: --> http://www.peakpub.co.uk/find_us/
:: Terrain: Typical rolling white peak terrain with disused railways, ancient byways, quiet lanes and even a bit of singletrack. This route takes in a some great descents including Priestcliffe Ditch and Deep Dale. We'll also take in Monsal Dale and a mid ride pub or cafe stop at Monsal Head.
This ride is suitable for fully rigid retro mountain bikes or perhaps a modest amount of old suspension forkage.
The route links together many old tracks and will probably be a little muddy in places. About one third of the route will be on surfaced roads and lanes.
Please sign up if you are riding.
