Now we have to say goodbye to both our lovely cats

We had to say goodbye to Pixi yesterday. She'd been ill for a while and it was unfair to let her live. She was less than half her original weight and was just skin and bone.

The vet was very nice and very gentle and when the injection went in she just drooped her head and went to sleep.

We dont have children so she was an important part of our little family. I know it was only a cat but I havent blubbed so much since childhood!

Poor old Pixi. I'm sat here trying to do emails before I head out. I'm struggling due to Louis being sat on me. He is almost exactly the same age as yours.

Dreading ours going. The kids (11) have not known a time without them.

Sorry for your loss! As you say, making that hard decision is better than prolonging any suffering.

Ours is 6 now and still behaves like a kitten - couldn't imagine loosing her!

You have my sympathy, we lost one last year and despite (maybe because) he was our youngest cat, only two and a bit, it was exactly like losing a family member. It's just not possible to replace them as their personalities are all so different...

I'm not a cat person, but you have my sympathy

We have a Beagle who is currently only 4 years old. We've just had a baby and they are now going to grow up together. I'm absolutely dreading the time when we have to say goodbye to him (the Beagle, not the baby!).

Cheers guys - yes 'its only a cat' but wow, I didnt think I'd be so upset.

I'm worried about the missus too, I've never seen her so upset.

Condolences to you both ,

It must have been a difficult decision , but probably the right one . My mum kept my grans' cat as long as she could because it was my mums last link with my gran . It wasn't nice seeing a cat in such physical and mental state being kept alive . She died aged 21 .
