Thank you for all your interest. It is now on its way to an appreciative new home.
It was also great to meet the new owner and his wife who came to pick it up and enjoy a day out in Derbyshire.
Further Price Drop £190 – though any serious offer considered. Previously For Sale £220 & £250.
Raleigh Rapide 23 ½”. Reynolds 531 frame. Manufactured September 1983. Excellent and Original.
1 owner from new (ie myself), purchased from Graham Read Cycle Warehouse 28th April 1984.
All original equipment with nothing replaced or touched up, with the exception of the Suntour freewheel (14 15 17 19 21 24) which was replaced by a Suntour Ultra (12 13 14 15 16 17 22) on 5th April 1985 by Sid Standard of Beeston along with cloth tape replacing the plastic – see photo of job card.
Purchased to replace much loved and ridden Carlton but life quickly got in the way soon after, therefore has been used very little and has spent most of its life in spare bedrooms or under blanket in garages.
The bike has the odd small blemishes but still exceptional for 35 years. Worst example being slight surface corrosion to the bottom of the head set stem, please see photo.
Please have a look at all photos including original paperwork covering serial number, assembler, parts list and brochure amongst them. All paperwork as per photos to be included along with original invoice.
Cash on Collection, though willing to deliver locally or can meet at Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield etc. Also happy for courier service but this must be arranged by buyer, and no responsibility will be taken by seller for damage in transit.
Thank you for taking time to view.
