NOS VERY RARE VITUS 979 KAS ORIGINAL TEAM FRAME VINTAGE SIZE

400 quid for an empty box... Bonkers.

I'm with you on the KAS being associated with later gen 978, those KAS decals you can pick up for £20 anywhere!

Re:

that campag box would have contained either the head and bb tools or the tools for the alloy block. nice box but silly price. a bit like the vitus really! i think they used to retail at £299 or so? just my size too!

i remember a customer bringing one in and his front mech would shift up and down of it's own accord - we were momentarily freaked out by this until we had a shot up and down the street - you could see the bb shell had come unstuck and with the pressure of the crank downstroke, the seat tube would shift from one side to the next allowing the front mech to push and pull the chain!!

aye, them were the days . .

I had a bb separate on a 979 from the down tube ten years ago, by about 15mm! My mate got some industrial super glue out the work, applied, tapped it all down with a rubber mallet and it's as good as the day they made it :)
