For Sale: Brand New / Never Used 2003 Giant TCR-100 (Tour de France Centenary Edition)

Brand new/old stock bike display piece since new and never ridden.
I don’t know how many of these bikes ever made it directly to the UK market from Giant, but I’m sure someone on the group may know? Certainly Giant UK could not tell me, but it was 19-year ago.
This is number 017 of less than 100 built. A knowledgeable member of staff at Giant UK confirmed that Giant were supposed to build 100, but ran out of parts for the special Campagnolo Record Groupset, and wouldn't produce say 7 more sets without a higher production run commitment, which Giant declined to go-ahead with.
I am the 3rd owner of the bike and have email documentation from the first owner of the original order. This was always a UK bike, not an import from another country’s allocation.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Tour de France, Giant Bicycles has announced that it will produce a Special Edition Team TCR Composite, which will go by the name TCR Century 100, for use by Team ONCE-Eroski in the 2003 Tour de France. The bike will make its debut on July 4th at the official presentation of the Tour. Additionally, 100 of these bikes will be made available worldwide through select Giant Professional Cycling Retailers.
Following the tremendous success of the special edition 2002 TCR Composite Gold, the TCR 100 not only honors the Tour’s history but also serves to commemorate ONCE’s history and success at the Tour since 1990, from Eduardo Chozas' victory in 1990 at St Etienne to last year’s Team Classification victory.
The bike will once again be outfitted with special edition components from Campagnolo, AX–Lightness saddle and Nokon, as well as a full complement of carbon composite Giant Racing Components. A special graphics scheme will highlight the key cities and mountains of this legendary race, such as Le Tourmalet, l’Alpe d'Huez, Paris and Marseilles.
This year's Tour has seen Giant unveil its latest work of art, the limited edition Giant TCR-100. The bike, which features a black and white paint scheme with accents of red, white and blue to commemorate the French flag, also has a special graphics package that highlight the key cities and mountains of the Tour, such as Le Tourmalet, l'Alpe d'Huez, Paris and Marseilles.
The TCR-100 was designed by Giant for use by Team ONCE-Eroski in the 2003 Tour de France, with an additional run of 100 bikes being made available for distribution through select Giant retail stores.
The bike uses the new TCR full composite frame and aero fork, weighing a mere 1370g, making it the world's lightest mass-produced frameset.
Apart from its low-key frame, the TCR-100 is outfitted with the cream of (then '2003') carbon technology; Giant's own Carbon Technology seat post, handlebar, and stems, a full Campanolo Record groupset with carbon Bora deep dish wheels and Hutchinson tubulars, a hand-made AX Lightness saddle specially designed for the bike, and black Nokon cables with red/white/blue accents to match the frame.
The design of the bike began in November 2002 when Manolo Saiz visited Giant Europe's Offices to discuss the idea of a special bike for the Tour's 100th anniversary, a bike that not only honors the Tour's history but also ONCE's history at the Tour. That meeting not only produced the TCR-100, but also the TCR Composite Team that Giant released to the public soon after.
These bikes were rare back in 2003 retailing for £7,500 and with less than 100 made and distributed worldwide, most bike owners may never have heard of this Ltd Edition bike let alone seen one for sale. For many, the 2003 Tour de France is a distant memory, if one at all. A pivotal moment in that years Tour was when Joseba Beloki crashes his Giant TCR-100 on wet tarmac near Gap in Stage 9, taking him out of the race and forcing Lance Armstrong to ride partly over a harvested field on a mountain decent.

- Stem would be Cinelli Solido
- Handlebars would be Cinelli Solida
- White handlebar tape
- Pro riders used a range of differing saddles
- Different water bottles and cages
- Different composite seatposts (a lot of riders used the Mike Burrows aero option, as used on earlier Team TCR bikes)
- ONCE white logo on front and rear Bora wheels
