How come the anchor bolts on this post are silver instead of brass like all the other old seatposts that I've seen?

from what i seen/know, bolts have never been brass. if anything they may have been treated so that it has a yellow tint to it.

Sorry, I misspoke. I meant to say... How come the nuts that the anchor bolts thread into are silver instead of brass?

the barrel bolts… given the logos on the post, it's probably a fairly modern version, as opposed to the ones from the 90s.

The first year was Brass (1994) (you're talking about what I think they called the Rotary Nuts)
Not sure when they switched to Aluminium but they did and I think for some they kept the colouring... Certainly in 1999.
