NOS - 1997 - GT XIZANG - titanium build

How about some Quasar racing forks? They're like a Girvin linkage fork but the legs are made out of Titanium. Would go well with the all-Ti build style. All you would need to do would be to swap out the crappy elastomer stack for a modern shock. (and of course find one for sale that is, they're extremely rare, British build, you need the second gen. those are the ones with the Ti-legs). If you want to go with rigid, I would say a Morati fork. (again if you can find one...).

Awesome Morati cranks.¡¡¡¡

For me the GT Xizang or Zaskar are full XTR with Accutrax Forx or MAg 21 SL, Answer stem and bar. Spin wheels looks great or disk drive.

You are afortunate for can build with this sweet parts.

Following the post..

Awesome looking set of parts you have! Can't wait to see it together, I have a Xizang and I love it. ( outfitted mine with modern stuff though) what's the story on those cranks? I've never seen those before

Those cranks were made in the CZ, MORATI does
not exist any more... They have also built some
sweet frames and forks, stem/handlebars, ...

I think I'll go with the GT Hadley hubset. I will
put them on some sweet NOS MAVIC 117 SUP
UB CERAMIC... :)

GT titanium BB and titanium MORATI cranks with
those lovely BOONE chainrings. Grafton pedals..

Avid Brakes and levers, and now comes the tricky
part: M900 with grafton shifter perches or M952?
M952'd fit it better (1997 frame). I already have
this Xizang with those M952 and it looks awesome...

Thinking about FOX forks or rigid MORATI

Cheers

I looked up the Morati stuff... now I'm drooling, nice looking stuff. If you could use one of their ti forks it would look sick!

I have a couple sets of those GT hubs myself. Im not sure what to do with them since I used some vintage white industry hubs on my xizang build. I had a nice set of White Industries cranks so the hubs matched nicely :D

Still in its box. I don't think I will build it up, found a used frame
and built up that one. It more or less looks like this now, only it
has hte 95 decals and a FC-M952 4-arm on it now.

I wouldn't touch that Morati stuff with a very long pole. A buddy of mine had those cranks BITD and they broke after only 6 months of XC use (they sheared off, not even at a weld). Another friend had the forks, they broke at the headset race after a year's use. But nice looking it is.
