Current status. Not winning this one easily 😞
Try the freezing spray method, with those remains of the seatpost sticking out still, it should work.

Secure seatpost in the vice. Put sponge material around the seattube as long as possible to cover the seatpost surface area inside. Get the strongest freezing spray available. As the setpost and your frame now has a chemical bond, only thing you need is breaking it and luckily different materials mean different heat expansion.

Spray the sponge liberally and see how cold the frame gets. Use the BB area also to get the spray inside the tube too. Then twist it. Twist and shout! Repeat it until that statisfying thunk!
OK, now time for a nice pint.

Welded a square alum tube to the top of the post to give me better purchase in a vise. The heat from the welding process was enough to allow a bit of torque on the frame to crack it loose. It squealed all the way out but it’s out.

Is rebuilding this fork fairly straightforward? Everything thing I see show special tools needed. I really like it but not going to spend a fortune on it.

I’ve got this waiting for me to pick up end of August. Think it would be good for this frame? Was going to put it on my 96 Kilauea then put the P2 on this frame maybe …🤔🤔

Easy peasy. The only thing you may need is the tool to press in the seals. You'll need a 30mm seal kit and Specialty Retro Products is the place to get quality Dr. Zocchi seals in North America

Youtuber, Butter Suspension does a great detailed rebuild on a Z1 that I have duplicated on a couple Z2 rebuilds. Just search "Butter Suspension Marzocchi Bomber Z1 rebuild" on YouTube for the tutorial

PS - a large flat head screw driver with the tip wrapped in some duct tape works just fine to pop out the seals vs an expensive Pedros DH tire lever

Lovely, indeed, i bet it's under 1.9 kg as a bare frame, Tange Superlight is a name not without a good reason. I'd swap the UN5X BB-while it's a sturdy and practical choice- with something fancier and much lighter too.
