Whats the difference between Record, Neuvo Record and Super Record. From what i can see they were all about at the the same time, are they different levels of quality or for different use?

http://www.velo-retro.com/tline.html Very Simplistically, it's a story of replacing steel with alloy (Record becomes Nuovo Record-late 60s) and then attempting to replace what's left of the steel with titanium, and anodising some alloy bits black so you can tell the difference (Nuovo Record becomes Super Record-mid 70s) The quality is more or less constant-It was an exercise in weight reduction through (for the time) exotic materials.

Just to clarify.. some parts would be part of all three 'groups' and you would usually call them 'Record'... Record cranks with either Nuovo or Super chainrings... Strictly speaking there is no such thing as Nuovo Record cranks or Super Record cranks. Same thing applies to brake calipers (not levers) and hubs I think, apart from the soon-abandoned titanium hub spindles. There was AFAIK no Nuovo Record part that couldn't effectively become Super Record by replacing a few steel bolts/spindles with titanium ones-not before 1978, anyway..
Effectively, 'Record', on it's own, means; 'unchanged since 1967-8, still part of group'.
