Just purchased myself a geared road bike to replace my Surly Crosscheck so its got to go.
Spec.
2008 Surly Crosscheck Frame and Fork - Best handling cross frame ive ever ridden (even better than my new bike)
Open pro 32h rims on Shimano XT hubs (new style with aluminium axles)
Ultegra cranks (7700 series) hollowtech2
Stainless Surly chainrings 47t front, 17t rear, KMC chain (recently replaced)
Bontrager race-X-lite carbon seatpost and fizik ti pave hp saddle
Shimano r600 cantilever brakes
Shimano Sora STI's (never been used as gear levers)
Tortec Reflectorguards
Continental Gatorskin Front and Gatorhardshell Rear
Bontrager Race Lite bars 31.8
Bontrager Select 95mm Stem 31.8
Good Points
Ideal commuter,very tough bike that can be ridden off and on road, fitted with possibly the best mudguards ive come across. Wheels are light and durable with the newest style of XT hubs. New brake pads fitted front and rear, nearly new rear invincible hardshell gatorskin tyre. Bearings are in good condition and recently serviced, Singlespeed simplicity allows cheap commuting.
Bad Points
Stickers are pealing, common with surlys but sticker kits are available. Few scratches here and there,but none through the primer so no rust, STI's are tatty but are only used as brake levers.
Not supplied with pedals, but do have a one week old pair of Crankbrothers Egg beater 1's which i could throw in for £20.
Bike is pictured with tatty bar tape, bike will be sold newly bar taped.
Asking £450 for it, but open to offers, viewings on request and I am based in OXFORD.
