No more Gary Fisher.

Gary Fisher posts a lot on facebook , and he seems very pleased with it all .

Once stuff disapears into the past it eventually becomes Retro and for Gary Fisher and Retrobike thats a good thing is it not :D

Seems Gary Fisher as a brand is being dropped by trek :(

There will be range of bikes now called the Gary Fisher line, but will feature trek decals.

Sounds like a shipping company. Well done Trek

had seen a few congratulatory tweets from carlton reid and fisher yesterday. Didn't bother to find out why, now i know.

Not sure if this is a good thing, bad thing or if it even matters...

Didn't even know they still made Fisher branded bikes anymore.

This decision isn't going to effect good ol' Barry Fisher as he is just an Industry ho' anyway.

Not a fan of the blagger!! Being a bike seller and distributor, don't make you a hero. Just a bike seller and sellout.

bye bye to a boring outpost of corporate blandness.

al. that should keep the thread active for a few pages!

I think it's probably a good thing in terms of selling more of the bikes. Lots of shops sell Treks, not so many sell Gary Fishers. Whether those shops will take the Gary Fisher Collection bikes now that they're Treks remains to be seen, of course.

Bit disappointed that the Roscoe seems to have vanished, they were splendid bikes. Still, looking forward to the Gary Klein Collection ;-)

I think the Fisher 29ers were some of their best sellers in recent years.
Maybe not in overall volume, but demand always > supply and they provided a hue amount of exposure for GF/Trek as the first big company to back the 700C size.

I wonder why GF would be happy about this development...? and what he might be planning next (short of retiring on a stack of cash?)

[edit]
Ah, ok, so it's not much more than a re-branding (blanding?) exercise, with Trek & Fisher now differentiated only by paintjobs & stickers, and with the Fisher ones getting better distribution to Trek dealers.

/excitement.

So Al was correct: Industry whoring & marketing B.S.
