No love for Marin?

BITD i wanted a ti Marin but otherwise the others just didn't do it for me. Wasn't it the first ti frame mtb on the market???

I managed to pick up a cro-mo 95 Team Marin on the bay for £130 all completely standard. The only thing i've changed are the brakes from cantis to XT v's. Im also thinking of fitting some early bombers to it too. It rides so well, dare i say better than my Kona Kilauea. I've seen quite a few Eldrige grades on ebay too, just a matter of looking at newly listed

I had a Marin. It tried to kill me twice. Cracked vertabrae in neck and broken collar bone. The thing was cursed.

i think there is a lot of love here for Marins and rightly so, seems many have them in their collection, prices are good and as said they are a fab bike.

I think thats why the IFT doesnt come up very often, i would love the one with the cnced stay bits personally.

checkout Benandemus collection of team and ti's

I had a 95 IFT BITD. Regreted selling it, and last year decided to relive my youth and find 1 with the cnc'd rear end as I did before. Now I'm fortunate enough to have 2. 1 frame I got here just before Christmas, the other another 1 a member kindly spotted in their local shop thanks to my wanted add he told me. Both are currently being rebuilt, and Gill is doing me 2 sets of decals. I have a 17.5" & a 15.5". As mentioned they are great bikes to ride, and climb really well. Now they are staying.

Now edited with a lovely picture of the rear end when the shop had it.

If I saw something like that, I would have a Marin and be wondering what I could sell to make up the £130!

I bought an EG frame off a member last year. Built it up and it rides superb. For a mass produced frame they are beautifully made.

Of all my bikes I reckon the Marin gets the most use it just rides so sweet

Cheers fella! I should really change the big dog to a 44 T though. Hard to find nowadays in the old BCD. I'm on the lookout for some Ritchey wheels for it as well then it would be "finished" in my eyes.
