nipple washers dont fit!

Hi all.i was given some 26" carbon rims by someone who had bought the wrong size by mistake and I was advised to use nipple washers when building them up. Unfortunately the washers I bought off ebay don't fit through to the rim bed.
Can you buy smaller ones or am I stuck building the wheels without them?

There are different types of nipple washers. maybe try a different kind? The HED ones are oval in shape and curved to better fit the rim seat. I would try to use washers on carbon rims. (same goes for aluminum rims without eyelets).

Thanks.it looks like the oval ones would fit through the holes but the rims have a flat bed.there don't seem to be a lot of nipple washers to choose from on ebay.i don't know where else to buy them from!
