nice frames an parts placed on stones or rough wall for pics

really p1sses me off when i see that some1 has put
nice frames or parts on a rough surface for photos.
worse when they show how it looked as a full bike with out a mark on it an then split it up for sale placing it on a stone path coverd in scratches or paint missing.

yeah very silly as they obviously want as much for the gear as possible as you do when you sell stuff. but then sometimes it will put you off and ill buy it cheaply and get a deal !

true but once you have 1 another could show up thats mint

im not botherd if its part of a seat post thats in the frame but if its
a focal part of the bike id put off, trail damage is fine in my book
but posing it on stones or rough walls for a photo an causing damage
is just wrong

always look at it from the point of view the buyer will
be looking at it :O)

How is placing a part on a rough surface to photograph it gonna damage it :?:
To get the part to sit on that surface wouldn't involve throwing it at it or rubbing it up and down on the surface in a sanding motion, any damage that's shown would surely have occurred before the pic was taken

I always take a belt sander to any item I'm selling, just before I take the pics, I don't want any potential buyers to get their hopes up that they might be getting an item in mint condition

because there abrasive surfaces an paint its quite fragile

these pictures are often on peoples driveways
if you put weight on a pile of stones they can shift dragging what ever it is
along with them causing lots of scratches

i have scratched a bike that was leaning against a wood table
so leaning the bare frame onto a pebble dash or brick wall will
no doubt risk scratching an more so if your moving it around
to get better angles

even if you only cause a tiny marks it all adds up
why would you risk it
when you could take the pic on something soft

Don't know of any bike parts that are heavy(?) enough that if laid on a pile of stones could shift them.
As to scratching a bike leaning against a wooden table

, are you as clumsy with a bike as you are with your spelling and grammar? :facepalm:
