Newly made up winter hack!

Ian,

the bars and stem are really lovely!!! LOL Almost as nice as a ROossin stem!!

Have you a total time scale for this build - just to annoy me?

As soon as the Christmas rush is over Richard, I'll be sending off the 'awful' Rossin stem to be re-anodised and painted back in....'lovely jubbly'

Took it steady with building the bike but I would say its not taken me any longer than four months to complete,
this included me fully stripping the paint off myself and respraying it, sourcing a full Shimano 105 groupset
from a guy in France then finding a suitable cassette/chain/bars/headset/tyres/tubes/bottom bracket to get it running.

Total cost to build the bike: £250, no such labour charge as I fully built the thing ground up.

this is my hack. you must be mad.

Use it, wreck it, rebuild it, the circle of life. Looks great at the moment, have a great ride on Sunday.

Old British motorcycle owners trick, thoroughly cover the chrome in a light coat of Vaseline.

I used to have to do this to both chrome and alloy or face the ravages of the winter when commuting to work on my 68 Bonnie.

As for hacks, I'm not posh enough to have seasonal hacks, my poor Raleigh 853 gets ridden all year round.

I'm after wide 'tail-dragger's' for the bottom of the mudguards, so if anyone knows who has two I'm all ears.[/quote]

Can't you just cut up some washing up bottles instead ? As it's only a hack bike
