Newest purchase GT Zaskar, possibly 1991?

Re: Newest purchase GT Zaskar unknown year

After lots more polishing the frame now looks like this:

It'll get another going over before I build it up.
Just waiting on XT M732 chainset and qr's plus a bar and stem to arrive. Sort the forks and then its build time :)

Re:

Wow, great work on the polishing, that looks amazing. Never owned a GT but may be one day.

Its going to look great when its built up!

Thanks guys, needs a bit more but compared to what it looked like before I'm very happy.

Wheels and forks destined for another bike but gives you an idea.

Paddy the serial number is on the BB shell.

What's the number on the inside of the NDS rear dropout ?
That's the serial number (seriously - it is).

WOW Great Job! Those Pace Forks look slick IMO... Very nice!

Re:

found my old photos from the '91 zaskar I did a couple of years back. This is where the serial number is:

No numbers at all on the dropout. It did have the remnants of a very small rectangular sticker under the top tube in the extra triangle, could read anything left on it though and removed when polishing. It's an odd one.

Thanks for the comment phatmar. Those forks and wheels are going on an Orange Vit T. Sticking with RC35's and their Magura specific mounts on this GT if I can sort new elastomers.

Re: Newest purchase GT Zaskar possibly 1991?

There are some 91 zaskars without serial numbers I believe - might be one of those.

Thanks for all your input guys :)

I love buying dead looking bikes and turning them around.
