On closer inspection looks like the serial number has been removed from the left hand inner rear dropout arrear

On the plus point there is next to no chance of finding the owner unless anyone here believes it may be theirs.

Will be contacting the seller to see what he knows although I don't believe he would have had any involvement.

Call me nasty but you can't have it back.

Just pulled the RC35 forks apart to be greated by the expected lovely sticky crumberley pink mass of old elastomer material. Anyone know of a good replacement/ have some they don't need?

Call the Mounties...crime's been committed. Don't know that I'd ever buy anything with the serial number filed off.

Reading old threads on the subject it appears a lot of higher end bikes are missing their serial numbers. That's life I guess, at least she lives on.

Yeah I've got at least a half dozen myself but you can't see evidence of filing or removing the number and the ones that are painted are clearly all original paint so were not filed off and painted over.

Once I'd polished it and had it pointed out it was quite obvious, the material is clearly thinner, not just scuff marks. Difficult to capture in a photo but whereas the drive side dropout is a nice flat price of material, the drive side dips in where it shouldn't.
