Newbie with 1992 Explosif

Hi all first post,

Ive been a lurker for a while so thought I'd post re my situation.

Having bought a Kona Explosif in 1992 to race( I remember I paid £1250 at the time lol), I promptly snapped the original xc500's. I then had them replaced with some very bad rockshox.

I am now on some kona P2's. I want to go back to suspension, when the last bike shop fitted the P2's they also fitted a Ahead stem so does that mean I can just go for any 1 1/8" suspension forks out there now?

Thanks for in help in advance.

Paul

If you're running aheadset in inch and an eighth, the world is pretty much your oyster as far as modern fork choice is concerned. Best stick to 60-80mm travel though given the geometry of the frame. Maybe a racey Marzocchi or one of those DT Swiss (reliable Pace) forks would suit, if you're going all out. Good luck with that, anyway . Alex :D
