Sakae Custom Road Champion bars and Biba stem put together ready for my first attempt at sewing a leather wrap handlebar cover.

Well the stitching of the leather wraps went well, actually much easier than I thought. Just need to wait a few days for the leather to dry before trimming and inserting the bar end plugs.

The rebuild with period parts progressed nicely today.
I've fitted the Suntour Cyclone rear mech, Suntour 14-28 freewheel, wheels are Weinmann concave rims on Campagnolo hubs...



Stronglight 99 bis triple chainset ( 28,38,48 ) SR SP-100AL pedals, Suntour Mountech front derailleur, Christophe toe-clips.......



Shimano 600 cantilevers and brake levers ...



Simplex downtube levers...



and put an inline adjuster for the rear brake as the bridge is not threaded for one.

Thanks singlemalt. Hoping to get it finished for next weekend and get out on it then. Just hoping the weather holds ... I'm loathed to get it filthy just yet!

Rebuild all but finished and out this morning for a 10 mile shake down ride.
It's a lovely ride especially for a touring bike, very responsive when you up the pace, but still a smooth and comfortable ride.
Everything seems to be adjusted correctly, just waiting on some Jim Blackburn bottle cages to complete it.
