Newbie Help Needed - Retro Full Suspension Bike

How about this....
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MESOX:IT

I 'sold' it on ebay but got messed about (understatement of the year!) by the tw*t who won the auction.
Have since removed the Noleen forks to sell seperately but still have the frame and rear arm for sale (haven't actualy sold the forks yet either ;))
The frame could really use a strip and powder coat (I could get this done for you if you were interested) but would make a great project.
Have a lovely Sysncros Ti stem thats been cut to suit this frame too

Dropme a pm if you're interested in it ;)

I started out my retro odyssey with an RTS and now have two, as well as a couple of AMP frames too. The RTS I spent most time on I have come to realise is too small, so looking to sell, but if you do go for an RTS I don't think you will be disappointed. Watch out for play in the linkages/swing arms, cracks under the bb where the rocker mount is welded, and condition of the shock. You can buy new ones (risse), or noleen still sell and service them too, though they aren't cheap in either case.

Good luck with your search.

Hi Everyone...

Firstly, my dear mother (Cas) has insisted i join this forum, with a threat of cutting my pocket money if i don't join up! (I'm 28 now and i wont divulge her age, but i think she is politely referred to as a veteran in cycling circles!)

Well that's any retro street cred I ever had well down the swanee!

Are we the only mother and son combo on RB I wonder?

Oh and full sus - how embarrassing when I only ride rigid! These young ones are so soft these days!

Right,

I've found one. Its a bit later than i was originally looking and possibly not old enough to be called retro, however by the time i've finished it, we will be a decade down the line.

It is an ebay job and bear with me on this one:

Hi for auction here we have a Santa Cruz replica based on a Club Roost XC4 Enduro frame. Stripped it dowm 6months ago as a project and sadly havent got round to finishing it off, have had a custom paint job which looks amazing. Tried to get some Club Roost stickers but couldnt so got Santa Cruz stickers as the frame looks very much like a Santa Cruz heckler. The frame is roughly 3 to 4 years old if my memory serves me right. The colour is an awsome bright orange with an almost pearlescent effect, and is immaculate. Has a Fox float R air shock which produces 4inches of plush travel from the rear end. Has disk and v brake mounts. Detachable rear mech hanger. Measures 15inches from the center of the bottom bracket shell to the center of the top tube. Measures 22inches from the center of the headtube to the center of the seatube. Comes with a seat clamp and a shimano lx mega 9 front mech. An awsome looking bike a true one off colour. Any questions please just ask.)

I didn't ever expect to get approval on a bike from my mother.

Somethings will never change.

She seems to forget about all the years of me pushing her up hills on her little GT Outpost Trail with its solid steel tubed girlie frame and sofa-sized seat!

Love you loads mum! xxx

I hope Cas has sent you to bed without any tea after posting pics like that in the old skool chat section

A friend of mine has one of those Club Roost Heckler-copies, but he has the decency to have no stickers on his. It works fine, but it isn't a copy of a Superlight, and I don't think it is even as light as a standard Heckler. Nor is it anything like retro - I think they came out in about 2003 or 4.

The other earlyish frames that worked quite well were the Stumpjumpers and the Marin Mount Vision from c99.

First FS bike I rode was a Santa Cruz Tazmon, and I still haven't ridden anything that does everything better. I suppose that's why I've still got mine!

Some chap had one on ebay last week, there's no justice in this world that it failed to get a bid.
