Hi Everyone...
Firstly, my dear mother (Cas) has insisted i join this forum, with a threat of cutting my pocket money if i don't join up! (I'm 28 now and i wont divulge her age, but i think she is politely referred to as a veteran in cycling circles!)
I used to be mountain bike mad and ended up with a GT Zaskar, Pace RC36s, Hope Ti/Mavic Wheels etc.
Now have a Specialized Rockhopper Pro 2010, Allez Elite Roadbike (Something i vowed i would never own as a hardcore XC boy!)
Anyway,
After a rather eyeball shaking ride along a bridleway last night, following a mate on a GT I-Drive, i have decided that its time to build a retro/classic XC full suspension bike.
I would like to go with RockShox SIDs, as i could never afford them when i was young and enthusiastic, along with Hope Ti-Glide Hubs, Middleburn Cranks, and all the other bits i used to wish for at Christmas time.
The daft thing is that my mum never used to be into bike and cycling was something that happened on holiday to get my father to stop moaning. (Sorry Dad!) Mum has been quoted as saying "Why do you want to spend all that money on something for your bike?" Which she now lives to regret.
If anyone has any suggestions as to which classic/retro XC Full-Sus frames i should be looking at, please let me know.
Thanks very much )
