Newbie advice - sell a GT Lighning complete or split?

Ok.. so whats the difference between the Xizang and Lightning frames ??

The Lightning is aluminium and the Zizang is titanium.

1997 GT Lightning
Frame Tubing Material = 3Al/2.5V titanium

Please do Tazio... maybe a clever bit of marketing on GT front...
Push the Xizang to the teams... show it as the team bike etc.. but make a second frame from TI... and sit it in the background..

Zaskar and Zaskar LE !! same frame... 6061 made in the USA etc...
i really dont know the answer.... where is MR GT when you need him

Well there you go, the 98 is Ti as well.

In my very limited knowledge of GT I always thought the hierarchy of hardtails was roughly Lightning, Zaskar and then Zizang with the Zizang being the flagship Ti model.

I think I might just shut up in future about things I know sod all about.

I agree with you... Xizang has always been seen as the top of the pile..
with the Zaskar LE being second... so where the heck does the lightning sit in this picture ??

1, Xizang (team bike)
2, Lightning (little if any marketing)
3, Zaskar LE (team bike)
4, Zaskar (etc....)

Hopefully gm1230126 can shed some light on this.... because am LOST !!

But a apparently a Ti Lightning 4 years later was only $1800.

The Xizang was dripping in XTR of the time and Ti SL rockshox's..

But if the frame is the same... then you are paying for the fitted kit right ??
seems a little crazy to me... :shock:
