Fast forward to 2020: Came across a 1982 gravely wounded stumpy with a few parts that I think fit the bike a little better. Essentially a 1682 and prior build kit rather, to replace the 1983 1st gen Shimano bits...
I think the new bits really tied the bike together.
Mafac 4 dot front brakes were trimmed by CK & GF to fit Toms forks...nothing a little hacksaw cant fix.
